Flow 800m sea swim set for Saturday

The annual Flow 800-meter sea swim will be held on Saturday on Seven Mile Beach.

The event, hosted by the Cayman Islands Amateur Swimming Association, starts at 4 p.m. at Governors Beach, where it will also end.

Registration will take place at Governors Beach from 3-3:45 p.m.

All swimmers will be with provided swim caps and T-shirts, and sandwiches and refreshments will be provided at the end of the race.

Trophies for the top three male and female finishers in each age group will be awarded.

CIASA’s sea swims feature a variety of competitive and noncompetitive swimmers of all ages.

“There has been a break since the last sea swim in early March,” said CIASA President Michael Lockwood. “There are two 800m sea swims, the Flow 800m swim and one more before the Flowers One Mile, 5K and 10K Swims in June. These races are a great warm up for novice and competitive swimmers alike.”

“We thank Flow for providing this opportunity and look forward to seeing everyone back in the water on May 14.”

Registration fee for CIASA members is $10 for children and $15 for adults. Non-member fees are $15 for children and $20 for adults.
