Premier Wayne Panton has encouraged the people of Cayman to embrace the spirit of giving during this festive season in his annual Christmas message.
Urging everyone, who is able to do so, to be charitable this Christmas, he said, “Give to others according to the blessing that God has given you. Only by giving are you able to receive more than you already have.
“This Christmas, I am asking all of you to give generously, give cheerfully, and to give thankfully. Giving, no matter how simple or small, has the potential to change an attitude, create a smile or impact a life forever.”
In his video message, he said Christmas is a time of “gratitude and selflessness”, when the focus shifts from oneself to others, our families and our communities.
“Despite the challenges faced over this past year, as individuals and families, I ask you all to use this time to reflect on your blessings,” he said, adding that by working together and continuing to support one another, the community can overcome all the adversities it faces.
