Cayman Cookout 2023 celebrates successful return

From celebrity chef presentations to extraordinary drone shows, Cayman Cookout 2023 at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman left a lasting positive impression on visitors and residents alike.

Daytime events saw the likes of Eric Ripert, Emeril Lagasse, Daniel Boulud, and – of course – the irrepressible José Andrés offering the interactive, intimate cooking sessions for which Cookout is famous. Enthusiastic audiences cheered their favourites, as the chefs on stage put on a show.

Discover Cayman with Andrew Zimmern on the Great Lawn had the chef and TV personality happily going from booth to booth, manned by local purveyors, chatting with them while sampling their wares. He then took questions from the audience which ran the gamut from asking about his favourite food, to attempts to get the inside scoop on ‘Iron Chef’ behind the scenes.

In the evenings, guests could either indulge in sumptuous repasts at Blue by Eric Ripert, featuring such luxury items as Champagne and caviar, or they could party like rock stars at the Barefoot BBQ on Seven Mile Beach and the Effervescence Soirée presented by Moët at the Harbour Club Pool. Both events had a surprise in store for attendees: Professional drone shows lighting up the night.

Before their eyes, a host of stingrays swam in a circle, which then transformed into a giant turtle lazily making its way across the sky. Palm trees, swirling aqua waves… they all appeared and morphed into one amazing technological artwork after the next.

Near the end, a bottle of Champagne sent its bubbles floating among the stars, then two Champagne flutes materialised in the heavens, joining the watching crowd below in toasting the triumphant return of Cayman Cookout.
