Having co-hosted the Cayman Finance Reinsurance Roundtable in New York City earlier this month, the Cayman International Reinsurance Companies Association (CIRCA) is preparing for an active year.
CIRCA held its 2022 annual general meeting in late December 2022, announcing new board positions and plans for the upcoming year.
Founded in October 2020, CIRCA is the dedicated industry group for commercial reinsurers based in Cayman.
The board is now chaired by Graham Mackay of Nassau Re (Cayman), joined by directors Gary Dombowsky (Knighthead Annuity and Life Assurance Company), David C. Self (CIBC Cayman Re), David Towriss (Aureum Re), Faramarz Romer (Greenlight Re), Gary Callaghan (Barents Re), and Tim Adair (United Insurance Company).
CIRCA Chair Mackay said, “I am looking forward to everything we’ve planned for 2023. CIRCA and our members are dedicated to working with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority, the Ministry of Financial Services, Cayman Finance and the Insurance Managers Association of Cayman to grow the reinsurance industry in the Cayman Islands through both local and international opportunities.”
CIRCA has established committees to focus on marketing, community and social outreach, membership, finance and regulatory matters.
In addition to the Cayman Finance Reinsurance Roundtable in New York, CIRCA will attending ReFocus 2023 in Las Vegas in February to enhance Cayman’s position as a premier location for the reinsurance industry.
Other plans for early 2023 include launching a refreshed website and social media channels.
