Stunning orchids of all kinds will be on display and for sale at the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park over the weekend of 25-26 March.
The annual floral show will feature thousands of native Cayman orchids, as well as many other exotic species of the flower.
The Botanic Park is home to 10 of the 28 orchid species recorded in Cayman, with four of these not found anywhere else on Earth.
The Orchid Show promotes the conservation of Cayman’s native orchids and gives gardeners a chance to learn about the techniques of successfully growing the flowers.
During both days of the show, which runs from 9am to 4:30pm, there will also be educational presentations and BBQ food available.
The Orchid Show is a fundraising event for the Queen Elizabeth II Botanic Park and the Cayman Islands Orchid Society.
The society said it was “pleased to present the Annual Orchid Show in collaboration with our partner, the QE II Botanic Park. We invite all orchid enthusiasts, the curious, the intuitive, and the expert cultivators to join us in celebration of this very special and fascinating family of plants”.
Entry fee is $10 for adults and $5 for children aged 6-12, and admission is free for those aged 5 and under.
