Police and security patrols are being stepped up at Camana Bay in response to ‘disruptive behaviour’ among unsupervised teens at the complex.
The Dart group has urged parents not to leave minors unattended at the town centre following a handful of incidents, including outbreaks of fighting, on recent Friday and Saturday evenings.
Dart’s property management team issued a press release Friday addressing the issue.
Marvin Cox, vice president of property management at Dart, said, “The public can also rest assured that we do not take reports of poorly behaved youth lightly and are working with key parties to address the issue, as well as the root causes, as this is an issue for the entire Cayman Islands community and not just at Camana Bay.”
Dart said it was working on other solutions to the issue and sought to reassure tenants that it was on top of the problem.
“Our security team and members of the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service do a great job patrolling the Town Centre to ensure the safety of all who live, work and play here,” said Cox.
“Let’s work together to preserve the harmonious environment where we all can enjoy life without worry about disruptive behaviour that could negatively impact the enjoyment of the Town Centre’s facilities, services and events.
“I’m asking parents to be mindful of this and that minors should not be dropped off to roam without supervision.”
