An unusual projectile which is thought to have been fired through a window in a home in Cayman Brac this morning, 27 June, is being examined, police have said.
At about 6:50am, officers responded to a report of a potential firearm incident near Watering Place.
The occupant heard a loud bang followed by one of the windows breaking, the police press office said.
A projectile, which is suspected to have been fired into the window, was found inside the home.
It is “not a conventional firearm bullet, casing or marine flare”, the press office said.
The projectile has been recovered to be forensically processed as investigations continue.
No one was injured during the incident.
The matter is under investigation and specialist officers from Grand Cayman are travelling to Cayman Brac to assist.
