The Cayman Islands national women’s football team will begin their campaign at winning the 2024 CONCACAF W Gold Cup this Thursday, 21 Sept., when they travel away to kick off action against Anguilla.
The 345 ladies will contest in Group D of League C, which also features Curaçao.
Like the Cayman men’s team who played their first batch of games in the CONCACAF Nations League earlier this month, the Cayman women’s team are favourites in their group – being the highest ranked at 166 in the FIFA rankings.
Anguilla currently sits at 183 in the rankings and Curaçao at 178. After playing Anguilla first, Cayman will then welcome them to home soil four days later.
Then on 26 Oct., Cayman will play at home again, this time against Curaçao, before travelling away to face them again on 4 Dec.
