Just five days after scoring for her country in the CONCACAF Road to W Gold Cup at home, Molly Kehoe travelled back to the UK and delivered again – only this time it was for the Cardiff City Bluebirds – marking her first goal for her new team.
Cardiff City, who are currently unbeaten in the 2023/24 Adran Premier League, notched their latest win on Sunday, 1 Oct., when they bested The New Saints 3-1.
The Caymanian striker, who sports #15 on her team jersey, recorded the second goal of the match when she put her team up 2-0 just before halftime with a blast that landed in the top right corner of the net.
“I always think about scoring before games,” Kehoe told the Compass. “So, it was nice to get a great goal in my second game with Cardiff.”
The match marked Kehoe’s second appearance on the pitch since signing with Cardiff back in July. Her team is scheduled to play again on Sunday, 8 Oct., against Wrexham Women.
“It’s important for me to continue to prove myself and showcase my talent early on in the season, so I can keep my confidence up and bring what I can to the team,” Kehoe added.
Her busy schedule will continue with a game against Pontypridd United Women on 22 Oct., and then national duty calls for Cayman’s top female striker on 26 Oct., in a home game against Curaçao in the CONCACAF Road to W Gold Cup.
