Ghouls, ghosties and garishly-dressed monsters are gearing up for their favourite night of the year: Halloween!
Cayman’s duppies are no different, joining people around the world for the big costume party. Then again, why wait until 31 Oct. when you can start the festivities early? Local bars and clubs are scaring up celebrations from Friday, 27 Oct., with lots of themes to choose from. There are options for all ages, so take a look at the list of events on offer and plan your long weekend accordingly.
Friday, 27 Oct.
The National Museum’s Spooky Series – ‘Eerie Echoes: The Museum’s Haunting Chronicles’ is open through Tuesday,
31 Oct. during regular business hours. A new, bone-chilling fictional story about the eerie secrets lurking within the museum’s walls.
Nightmare at Field of Screams starts on Friday, 27 Oct., (also running on Saturday, 28 Oct. and Tuesday, 31 Oct. ) at 6-9pm at the Field of Dreams, Fairbanks Road in George Town. Kids can visit the Haunted Ruins of Tortuga ($10 for ages 6 and over/$5 for children under 6), and journey through the eerie Frightmare Carnival ($5).
The Lodge reopens for Twisted Circus Halloween Party on Friday, 27 Oct., starting at 9pm, with entertainment by Las Palmas, DJ Kenzo and DJ Mat Banx. Entry is $10.
‘Abduction’ at Sandbar’s Area 51 starts at 8pm, going until a ‘horrifying’ 2:45am. Buy tickets online at eventpro.ky.
Saturday, 28 Oct.
Cayman Turtle Centre hosts a Hershey’s Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday, 28 Oct., from 10am-4pm. It features hourly kids games, a hot dog eating contest, prizes and spooky treats to enjoy, and poolside BBQ. Admission is $15 for adults/free entry for kids 12 and under who bring a Hershey’s candy wrapper.
Union Grill & Bar, in association with Cinderella Enchanted Parties, will host a Spooky Saturday Halloween party in Camana Bay on Saturday, 28 Oct. from 11:30am to 1:30pm. The activities will include crafts, makeovers, hairdos, wizard lessons, sabre lessons, sing-alongs and games. Prices are $45 for adults and $40 for kids under 12. The ticket includes lunch and a drink.
J. Michael hosts a Trick or Treat on Saturday, 28 Oct., from 12-5pm. Kids are encouraged to dress in their scariest costumes to trick or treat at the store. There will be lots of candy.
‘The Haunting Part III’ at Sandbar on Saturday, 28 Oct., goes from 7pm to 12am. It will feature a thrilling costume competition with prizes for best costumes. Tickets available online at eventpro.ky
Fifth annual Halloween Teen Jam at the Lions Centre on Saturday, 28 Oct., starting at 7pm. Teens, aged 13-17, can enjoy live DJs, a costume party and plenty of candy. Cash prizes for costumes. Admission is $10 at the gate.
Tuesday, 31 Oct.
Halloween comes to Camana Bay on Tuesday, 31 Oct., from 4:30-6:30pm. Kids can trick or treat around the Town Centre, stop by the face-painting booth opposite the Observation Tower, and enjoy Halloween Moonlight & Movies with a screening of ‘Hotel Transylvania: Transformania’ on the Crescent at 7pm.
The Sunrise Community Church will host KIDFEST, an evening of free food, drinks, candy and fun at the Lions Centre on Tuesday, 31 Oct., 5:30-8:30pm. There will be inflatables and games, as well as a costume contest with lots of prizes.
Cayman Theraplay will host a sensory-friendly trick-or-treating experience for children of all ages. Therapists will be passing out candy throughout the clinic in a sensory-sensitive and inclusive manner, on Tuesday, 31 Oct. Email

Cayman Crystal Caves will host a Halloween Night Party on Tuesday,
31 Oct., from 6:30-9pm. The party includes a haunted house, haunted cave tour, tricks and treats, prizes for best costumes and more. Admission is $10 for adults and kids. Free entry for under 4s.
