The Department of Environmental Health is conducting a special clean up exercise across the Cayman Islands over the next two weeks to remove bulk waste.
Residents should prepare and separate their items ahead of the days assigned for collection in their respective areas, according to a government press release.
Household appliances, furniture, and other items that are too large to be handled by weekly collection crews should be placed by the roadside for easy access.
Metals and vegetation should be separated from other bulk items, the press release said.
The special collections will take place in West Bay on 4 and 11 Dec., in George Town on 5 and 12 Dec., in Red Bay and Prospect on 6 and 13 Dec.
Crews will head to Savannah and Bodden Town on 7 and 14 Dec., and in North Side and East End on 8 and 15 Dec, and Cayman Brac and Little Cayman on 6, 9 and 13 Dec.
Any bulk waste that is put out after these dates will not be collected, the release added.
Construction and demolition debris, hazardous materials, electronics, and tyres should be taken to the landfill, as they will not be collected during the bulk waste removal activity.
The George Town Landfill operates from 7am to 5pm on weekdays, until 1pm on Saturdays and is closed on Sundays.
The landfill drop-off facility at the gate is accessible to the public and small vehicles 24 hours per day.
More information is available from the Department of Environmental Health for Grand Cayman residents on 949-6696 and for Sister Islands residents on 948-2321.

Last month, the Compass reported the illegal dumping of large pieces of office equipment in George Town.
George Town North MP Joey Hew at the time said: “This has become extremely annoying as it’s almost on a daily basis you see these things.
“I’m hoping that the authorities… will start to take on this issue as a matter of importance and start to properly investigate these occurrences and then prosecute the individuals.”
