An anonymous donor has purchased a new wheelchair-accessible Toyota Coaster bus for the Sunrise Adult Training Centre.
The George Town-based facility, which caters to adults with special needs, serves almost 100 clients, many of whom have mobility issues. The new vehicle will help make transportation to and from the centre much easier for those clients.

Nearly 70 Sunrise clients are enrolled in the centre’s in-house recreational and vocational programmes, and daily transportation has become a growing issue for the increasing number of attendees.
“In many cases, if our clients, especially wheelchair-users, cannot access transportation, they are not able to attend,” Kimberly Voaden, the Sunrise Adult Training Centre director, said in a press release.
She added, “We are beyond thrilled to have this donation, as without it, we would not have this transportation solution.”
The vehicle was delivered to the centre by Toyota dealer Vampt Motors on Thursday, 11 Jan.
