A man remained in hospital in stable condition Monday after being stabbed in the chest and back following a violent altercation in Prospect on Sunday evening.
Police said officers detained a 43-year-old George Town man in connection with the incident and are seeking a second man for the wounding.
The first suspect remains in custody as investigations continue.
The altercation occurred about 6:15pm on Sunday outside of a convenience store on Party Lane in George Town.
Police said it was reported that the three men were involved in an altercation, which led to one of the men being stabbed in the chest and back.
The wounded man fled inside the store where security officers locked the door behind him.
Officers responded to the incident and arrested one man, who was found in the vicinity of the incident, on suspicion of wounding.
The third man left before police arrived.
The injured man was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital for medical treatment.
Police said his wounds appeared to be non-life-threatening.
