A 45-year-old man was found “unresponsive” on a cruise ship anchored off the George Town port this morning, 26 Jan.

His sudden death is not believed to be suspicious.

Police were dispatched to the ship after receiving a report of the incident at about 8:30am, a police press release said.

Emergency services boarded the ship, and the man was taken to Cayman Islands Hospital where the attending doctor pronounced him dead.

The man was an employee of the cruise ship and a Philippine national.

“Inquiries into the circumstances of the death are currently ongoing, but are not believed to be suspicious,” the press release said.
