Caymanian swimming sensation Jordan Crooks began his SEC Swimming and Diving Championships campaign for his school, the University of Tennessee, as part of the silver-medal-winning relay team.

On 20 Feb., the second day of the championships, being held from 19-24 Feb., Crooks completed the butterfly leg of the 200-yard medley relay, contributing to his teammates Björn Kammann, Flynn Crisci and Gui Caribe clocking 1:21.82 – good enough for a silver medal.

The Tennessee team was just 0.16 seconds off the gold-medal time. However, their finish earned them the second-quickest mark in Tennessee history.

Crooks, both the 2023 SEC and NCAA Division I champion in the 50-yard freestyle, will be looking to defend his title on Wednesday, 21 Feb., when he competes in the heats in the morning session, with the finals scheduled for the afternoon.

The SEC swimming championships are being hosted by Auburn University in Alabama, at the James E. Martin Aquatics Center.
