A vehicle burst into flames following a two-car collision on Sunday afternoon, causing traffic to backup for hours on Shamrock Road as officers processed the scene.
A spokesperson from the Department of Public Safety Communications told the Cayman Compass that dispatch received reports of the fire shortly after 4:47pm on Sunday 25 Feb.
“The initial report was that there was a two vehicle collision, and from that one of the engines of the vehicles caught on fire,” said the spokesperson.
The spokesperson said minor injuries were reported.
“There were two persons who complained of injuries and were [tended to] by [medical officers] at the scene,” said the spokesperson. “No one was transported to the hospital.”
The roadway has since been cleared, and the crash is being investigated by the RCIPS.
