Cayman InStyle Fashion Week returns with creativity, glamour and allure over four days, from 18-21 April, bringing together more than 100 local and international models and talent.

The event will celebrate the world of fashion and showcase the latest trends and finest creations from both Caymanian and international designers.

More than 1,500 people attended the 2023 event, with some 61 youth and 69 adults participating each year.

The upcoming Cayman InStyle Fashion Week, which designer Norma Ebanks launched in 2019, has attracted big names from the industry, including world-renowned photographer Nigel Barker; two international top models Naima Mora and Kiara Belen; multi-award-winning actor, host and producer Jacinth Headlam; and international designers including Sergio Hudson, Sai Sanko, Carlton Jones, Uzuri International and Adrian Alicea.

Getting runway ready

In the lead-up to the celebration of fashion, art, and music, Fashion Week organisers hosted a series of modelling workshops held by international runway coach, Alva Page; and model calls, seeing over 100 local models – adults, teens and kids – deliver their best strut and runway style.

In February, Caymanian models Alana Tooker, Sydonie Barrett, Leilani Eden, Mili Almaguer, Shannon Crew, Brianna Livingston, Alisha Milwood, and Georgina Kerford took part in the New York Fashion Week shows, with the latter three also participating in the London version.

Ebanks accompanied the women as part of the Fashion Life Tour, a diversity-owned small business based in the US which showcases designers and models nationally and internationally.

This year’s fashion week will also be giving back, Ebanks explained, with proceeds from the events benefiting the Creative Fashion School, which “aims to empower aspiring designers by providing them with the opportunity to learn the art of sewing, fashion design, and modelling, and to nurture their talents right here in Grand Cayman”.
