Police are investigating an early morning shooting outside a George Town bar that left one man hospitalised with serious injuries.
According to a statement released by the RCIPS shortly after 6:20pm Saturday, officers were dispatched to the Eastern Avenue location following reports of multiple gunshots being fired.
“Firearms officers responded to the location and several spent casings were located and officers were informed that one man was transported to the hospital,” said police in their statement.
The man sustained a single gunshot wound resulting in a serious injury, the statement goes on to say.
The Compass has since learned that the incident occurred in the parking lot of Bananas Restaurant and Bar.
The matter remains under investigation and members of the public are asked to contact the George Town Police Station at 949-4222 with any information that could result in the identity of the shooter.
