CCMI offering 5 scholarships for Caymanian teens to attend Caribbean Marine Ecology Camp

CCMI is now accepting applications from Caymanian teens, ages 13-17, to attend the week-long Caribbean Marine Ecology Camp (CMEC) through an all-expenses-paid scholarship! These five need-based scholarships, funded through a grant by the Edmund F. and Virginia B. Ball Foundation, cover the camp costs as well as the flights to/from Little Cayman (within the Cayman Islands) to allow the participants to expand their knowledge about the local marine environments. During the camp, students stay at the Little Cayman Research Centre and learn directly from CCMI’s expert educators and scientists about tropical marine ecology and CCMI’s current research projects. Both divers and snorkellers are welcome.

Camp dates are:
21st – 27th July OR
28th July – 3rd August

A full release about the camp and scholarships, as well as a short sound bite from the quote in the release, is attached. Photos can be credited to CCMI. Additional details and quotes from past participants can be found on CCMI’s website

The application deadline for consideration for a scholarship to attend CMEC is Friday, 28th June 2024. Paid spaces to attend camp sessions are open until they sell out.

Please reach out if you have any questions.
