The Cayman Islands national golf team finished up competition in the 2024 Caribbean Amateur Golf Championships in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic earlier this month.

The Cayman squads were split in the men and women teams golfing at the Iberostar Bavaro Golf Club.

The men’s team of Aaron Jarvis, Andrew Jarvis, Giles Hobday, Daniel De Quintal, Luke Colbourn and Adrian Cochrane finished sixth place of nine teams, while Holly McLean and Isabel Mendes finished sixth place of seven women’s teams.

“Most of the team were a bit disappointed with their performances but we proudly represented Cayman in what was a very good event,” team captain Hobday said.

In the individual competitions, McLean – the two-time defending women’s champion finished fifth, while countryman Aaron Jarvis finished in 18th as the top performing Cayman competitor in the men’s division.
