The trial of Andre Delroy Campbell, who faces a charge of possessing an imitation firearm at Vic’s Bar last year, began on Monday.

A jury of seven, as well as two alternate jurors, was chosen in the case.

After the indictment against Campbell was read out and Acting Justice Ben Tonner explained the jury’s role, the jurors were released for the day, and the trial will resume on Tuesday morning.

Campbell is charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to commit an offence – causing fear or provocation of violence – outside the bar on Seymour Road on 13 Aug. 2023.

Campbell had pleaded not guilty to the charge.
