A man who was shot multiple times in the early hours of Saturday morning is being treated for his injuries in hospital.

A patrolling police unit that heard shots fired on Eastern Avenue in George Town shortly after 3am, and found the victim lying on the ground outside a bar, according to the RCIPS.

The man appeared to have “received a number of bullet wounds to his body”, police said in a statement Saturday morning.

He was taken by ambulance to the George Town Hospital, where he is reported to be in a serious but stable condition.

Police said the scene of the shooting had been cordoned off and forensic evidence had been gathered.
