A 79-year-old tourist died on Sunday after he got into difficulties after he snorkelled off a beach.
Police said the man, from the US, was assisted to shore and other beachgoers gave him CPR until emergency services arrived.
The man was rushed to the Cayman Islands Hospital by ambulance, but later pronounced dead by doctors.
The incident happened at about 11.40am in the waters off West Bay Road, south of Canal Point Drive.
