Back in the day, tequila only seemed to be mentioned in the same breath as frat parties and legendary hangovers. But, over time, this unique spirit has become recognised by connoisseurs as something to be savoured and appreciated.

Celebrity supporters, coupled with brands producing exceptional quality, have elevated tequila to a whole new level in the cocktail conversation. Now, Cayman is hosting its very first Fiesta de Agave, featuring international special guests and a range of events designed to inform and entertain.

From 9-11 Jan., the likes of Carlos Londono from Café Pacifico in Covent Garden; Chef Billy Maldonado from Fónico in Mexico City; Audrey Hands from Rayo in Mexico City; and Julio Bermejo from Tommy’s Mexican in San Francisco, will share their expertise with audiences. Both Rayo and Fónico are known for their award-winning cocktails and culinary delights, while Café Pacifico and Tommy’s are two of the world’s most celebrated tequila bars.

Over three days, attendees can celebrate Cayman’s burgeoning cocktail scene and take a deep dive into tequila production and tasting, along with the history, food and flavours of Mexico.

There is a full schedule from morning to night, held in different spaces at The Kimpton Seafire, Indigo and Bonny Moon.
