A 31-year-old man appeared in Summary Court on 4 Feb. charged with a rape on Cayman Brac.
It is alleged that the defendant raped a man in the area of Cemetery Road on 31 Jan. Police said the defendant and the man, who are known to each other, were at the location after midnight when the incident occurred.
Police said the victim was transported to the hospital, where he was examined by the attending doctor and released.
The defendant, arrested on 2 Feb., made a first appearance in Summary Court in George Town on 4 Feb. and was remanded in custody to reappear in court on 6 Feb.
Police said the investigation into the alleged incident is ongoing and appealed for anyone with information that could assist the inquiry to contact them.
