Ninety swimmers took to the water for the Sixtees Properties Sea Swim at Governor’s Beach last weekend.

The open water swimming event, organised by Cayman Aquatics, featured both 400 and 800-metre races and attracted swimmers of all ages and abilities for an afternoon of friendly but competitive racing in calm ocean conditions.

In the men’s division of the 800m, Lennox Turnham-Wheatley claimed first place with a time of 10:10:55.

He was joined on the podium by Adam Sellars, who took second with a time of 10:51.30, while Callahan Leask finished third in 11:08.70.

On the women’s side, Kate Galatopolous claimed the top spot after clocking in at 11:50:27.

Following behind her was Sienna Romer who secured second in 11:58:58, and Felicity Westin, who rounded out the top three with a time of 12:19:33.

In the 400m, the top three spots were filled by Amelia Martin in first place, Yosuel Arias Ciriaco in second place, and Luciella Mainga in third.

“This event forms part of Cayman Aquatics’ open water programme, which continues to grow in popularity and provides opportunities for both recreational swimmers and competitive athletes to take part in ocean racing,” said Cayman Aquatics.
