The Cayman Fury Netball Club has confirmed its first-time participation in the upcoming International Netball Classic, scheduled to take place next month in Miramar, Florida.

The club will be represented by two squads competing in the under-12 and under-14 divisions, with 22 of the club’s 47-member roster set to travel to Florida.

This year’s International Netball Classic, set for 4-5 April, will draw talent from across the Caribbean, United States, Africa, Australia and the United Kingdom.

During the event, teams will compete in a series of matches that will test their skills, strategy and teamwork on court, the club said.

Beyond matches, Cayman Fury said, “The girls will also take part in a variety of engaging events designed to celebrate the spirit of the sport, including a dance challenge and skill competitions.

“These additional events create an energetic and supportive environment, encouraging creativity, camaraderie and sportsmanship alongside competitive play,” the club added.

Team manager Vicki Calvert-Das said, “This trip is about development, teamwork and pride. We are incredibly proud of how hard the girls have trained and how they continue to support one another.

“Competing internationally will challenge them, build confidence and give them an experience that will shape them both as players and as young women.”

Head coach Kerrina Cecere added, “The players have shown outstanding commitment in training and a real hunger to improve. This tournament will test their skills against strong opposition, and that level of competition is exactly what helps young athletes grow.”
