Cayman Netball, formerly known as the Cayman Islands Netball Association, has a newly elected executive committee following its annual general meeting on 17 June.
Following the meeting, the executive committee appointed Bob McBean, on 23 June to serve as the association’s independent director.
Teneisha Wilson steps into the role of president, supported by first vice president Avril Myers-Standbury, second vice president Lyneth Monteith, secretary Aryana Grant, and treasurer Marvin Gordon.
The committee also features a network of district representatives, including Bryan Green for Cayman Brac, Kara Coe-Donaldson for Little Cayman, Katherine Gow for West Bay, Lucy McLaughlin for George Town, Sheana McDonald for Bodden Town, Alexis Carias for North Side, and Kedeen Foster for East End.
“The newly elected committee will lead the association’s efforts to promote, develop, and strengthen netball throughout the Cayman Islands while supporting athletes, officials, coaches, volunteers, clubs, and stakeholders across the sport,” said Cayman Netball in a press release.

Alongside the personnel changes, the organisation is implementing an operational shift by adopting its official registered name, Cayman Netball.
The committee said, “While the organisation has historically been known as the Cayman Islands Netball Association (CINA), its legal name was officially changed in 2018. The committee believes it is important that the organisation’s public identity now reflects its registered name, ensuring consistency across all official correspondence, publications, branding and stakeholder engagement.”
During this transitional phase, the executive committee said its immediate priorities include “completing the administrative handover process, strengthening governance, improving communication with stakeholders, supporting national programmes, advancing youth development initiatives, and preparing for the upcoming domestic season”.
President’s remarks
President Teneisha Wilson said that it is an immense honour to step into the leadership role, noting that the committee is united by a clear mission to serve the netball community with integrity, transparency and purposeful collaboration.
Wilson is no stranger to netball, having played the sport since the early age of 8 years old. Her experience includes representing the Cayman Islands on the global stage at just 15 years old during the 2003 Netball World Championships in Jamaica.
She views her presidency as a meaningful opportunity to give back to her community and share her personal experiences with the next generation of players.
Wilson said, “I’m looking forward to taking netball to the next level. Having the governance of a new and younger generation, including myself at 38 years old, is valuable because it means being able to bring fresh ideas and different opportunities that can elevate Cayman netball.”
Wilson said the committee is particularly keen on elevating the sport by bringing international competition to local shores through various tournaments.
“We want to give young players the necessary exposure and experience as this is something that is needed to develop netball in Cayman,” she said.
A future goal for the new president and her team is to host the under-16 Jean Pierre tournament locally.
“Cayman has always gone overseas to represent in this tournament, but to host one here would be ideal. We have the facilities to host it so we’re looking forward to seeing how that vision progresses overtime,” Wilson said.
The inclusion of a full roster of district representatives, including for Little Cayman and Cayman Brac, is central to the board’s strategy to ensure netball development is not just centralised in George Town.
“Having district representatives has always been a great idea. Now that we have a full executive board, we’re looking forward to getting everyone’s feedback from the different districts, especially our Sister Islands, so we can ensure that netball is not left behind in all areas of Cayman,” said Wilson.
She said that the board does not take the trust placed in them lightly, and that their focus remains steadfast on “strengthening our governance, streamlining communication, and unlocking new opportunities for the growth and development of netball across the Cayman Islands”.
