After a weekend of elite competition at the 10th Worldwide Invitational, 39 local artistic swimmers arrived back in Cayman with a double-digit medal count and a third consecutive title defense under their belts.

The event, which unfolded between 1-3 May at the Coral Springs Aquatic Complex, saw the athletes of the Camana Bay artistic swimming programme compete alongside more than 250 athletes representing 15 clubs.

Competing clubs hailed from various countries across the region including Panama, Jamaica, Ecuador and Guadeloupe.

In team events, the Cayman swimmers captured gold medals in the 7–8, 9–10 Novice and 9–10 Intermediate age group teams while the 11–12 Intermediate age group team earned silver.

By the conclusion of the weekend, the Cayman delegation collected a total of 14 medals across both individual and team categories.

Adding to the medal tally, Cayman distinguished itself by securing the Novice High Point Trophy for the third consecutive year.

Head coach Romina Giraldo praised the squad’s efforts in a press release saying, “[I am] so proud of each and every athlete who trained so hard and gave it their absolute best,” while 7-year-old Clara Nooruddin remarked that it was “an amazing experience”.
