Divetech will host the 12th annual PADI Women’s Dive Day on Saturday, 18 July, to raise funds for the Cayman Islands Breast Cancer Foundation.

Since the event was launched, divers and supporters have raised more than $60,000 for the charity.

Jo Mikutowicz, owner of Divetech, says all are invited to the upcoming event, adding, “Let’s smash some new records this year.”

Divers and snorkellers can take part between 9.30am and 1.30pm at the dive operation’s site at Cobalt Coast in West Bay.

The highlight of the event is always the underwater scavenger hunt, where participants are invited to try to find bright pink rocks, each of which have a number that corresponds to a prize.

Mikutowicz says that, back by popular demand, the ice bucket plunge will return again this year, when friends can challenge one another to remain in a bath filled with teeth-chatteringly cold ice and water, and raise extra funds at the same time.

There will also be charity raffle with many giveaways from local businesses.

All proceeds raise will go to the Breast Cancer Foundation.

“Whether you’re diving, snorkeling, or cheering us on from the shore to support a meaningful cause, everyone is welcome,” Mikutowicz said.

For a minimum $36 donation, air tanks, weights and access to scavenger hunt will be provided.
