Police are investigating the shooting of a man in Savannah on Thursday afternoon.
The victim showed up at the Cayman Islands Hospital in George Town with superficial injuries to his back, believed to be gunshot wounds, according to a news release issued by the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service.
The injured man told authorities the shooting happened on Hirst Road near the Countryside shopping plaza at about 2.30pm Thursday. He told police he flagged down a dark blue small Hyundai vehicle driven by a man with dreadlocks, who took him to the hospital. Police are asking the driver to contact them at 949-4222.
As of press time, police had no further information on the shooting.
