Man shot, injured in North Side

Police are asking the public for help in locating two suspects after a man was shot in the arm early Saturday morning after returning home near Frank Sound Road in North Side.

Shortly before 2 a.m., a 51-year-old businessman who arrived home in his vehicle was confronted as he walked toward his front porch by a man who shouted, “Hold Up!”, according to a news release issued by the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service.

The victim then threw a bottle at the suspect, who discharged a firearm, authorities said.

Police said the victim received what appeared to be a gunshot wound to his left forearm. The suspect then ran off toward the direction of Frank Sound Road. When the suspect was running away, the victim said he noticed a second person also running away.

The victim was transported to Cayman Islands Hospital in George Town where he underwent successful surgery, police said.
