The driver of a vehicle involved in a crash in which 21-year-old Zak Quappe was killed in May 2013 is due to appear in court Feb. 3 charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
Police charged the 23-year-old driver on Tuesday.
The crash, involving a Mitsubishi Lancer and a Ford Taurus, happened at 3:11 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, near the Sand Cay condos on South Church Street in George Town.
Mr. Quappe, son of local musicians Chuck and Barrie Quappe, was driving the Taurus. He was pronounced dead at the Cayman Islands Hospital.
The driver of the Mitsubishi was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving following the crash. He is currently on police bail.
