A man who was found unconscious in about 20 feet of water near the George Town coastline Sunday evening has died, Royal Cayman Islands Police Service officers confirmed.
The man, a 46-year-old visitor from Canada was brought into shore near Don Foster’s Dive Cayman on South Church Street.
Divers in the area reported to emergency personnel around 5:30 p.m. that they were returning to shore with an unconscious male. Police later said that the man had been snorkeling in the area earlier in the day and never returned to shore.
The man was identified as Timothy Mullin of Toronto, Canada. He was pronounced dead at the Cayman Islands hospital.
