Youth hockey is in full stride at Kings Sports Center
The national youth roller hockey saw its eight-and-under division in action last weekend with the Burger King Stingers edging out the Blackhawks, 6-2. Dylan Novak started the game with a goal for Blackhawks before Jaedon Cover leveled the score for Burger King late in the first period. Close back and fourth play continued for the remainder of the game, with good play from Lauren Duty, with goals from Burger King’s Jaxon Cover and Andrew Peene.
In game one, PwC’s passing game was working well, but Blackhawks’ goalie Andy Hastings proved to be an iron curtain between the posts. The Blackhawks’ Ethan Ellis delivered his first goal of the season and newbie Jagger Linford made great effort skating hard in the win against PwC.
The 10U division saw the Maroons beat the Ernst and Young Eagles, 5-1, to jump into second place in the standings. Molly Kehoe, Will Dyer and Will Priaulx were the driving force in the Maroons crucial victory. In the second game, the Deloitte Devils beat the Pirates, 10-9, thanks to Andrew Weber’s first two goals of the season. Justin Hastings and Kayden Knapik were also vital for the Devils.
In the 14-U division, the Conyers Canucks beat KPMG thanks Alex Agemian’s four goals. The Bruins dominated the Hudson Hawks, 11-4.
