A new speech-language pathologist has joined the KidsAbility team at Cayman Chiropractic and Medical Clinic.
Sandra Feduszczak said she is dedicated to working closely with parents, caregivers and children to create a family centered, holistic approach to services.
Ms. Feduszczak is from Ontario, Canada, where she has been working with McMaster Children’s Hospital, Hamilton Health Sciences for the past seven years.
She is certified to offer the Lidcombe Program of Early Stuttering Intervention as a Hanen-certified Speech-Language Pathologist, and she has offered a variety of parent intervention programs developed through The Hanen Centre. She is also trained and experienced in offering a total communication approach a child’s speech and language needs.
Ms. Feduszczak has worked in a variety of pediatric settings including community clinics, inpatient acute care and rehabilitation and outpatient hospital clinics. In addition, she has taught communication disorders coursework at Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario.
She also has experience and knowledge in the assessment and treatment of toddlers, preschoolers and school age children with a variety of speech and language profiles, including neurological disorders, phonological delay, motor speech disorders, expressive and receptive language delay/disorder, specific Language Impairment, stuttering, developmental delay, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and augmentative and alternative communication.
She further has experience working with pre-term infants whose medical and neurological difficulties impact their early interaction, attachment and language development.
Ms. Feduszczak graduated from the University of Queensland, Australia, in 2006 with a master’s in speech pathology studies, after completing a bachelor’s degree in linguistics from Brock University in 2004.
