Youth roller hockey action continues this month at Kings Sports Centre.
The youth league takes center stage this weekend. The 13 and Under division features the top-ranked 10-1 Ecay Traders taking on the fourth seed 2-1-8 Ernst and Young Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 5. The No. 2 seed Hudson Hawks, 6-1-4, battle the 2-2-7 Islanders, the No. 3 seed, at 9 a.m. on Dec. 6. Kai Allard of Ecay topped the scoring charts with 40 goals and 24 assists.
In the 10 and Under division, the No. 1 seed KPMG Canucks – 9-1-1 during the regular season – take on the 3-8 Stars, the fourth seed, at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 5. The 6-5 Deloitte Devils, the No. 2 seed, challenge the 3-1-7 Burger King Whoppers, the No. 3 seed, at 2 p.m. on Dec. 6. Molly Kehoe of Deloitte had a division-best 41 goals while Jake Booker of the Stars had 13 assists.
The 8 and Under division saw the PwC Predators top the ranks at 8-14, followed by the 7-1-6 Canadiens and 4-9 Blackhawks. All three squads are expected to be in action on Dec. 6 from noon until 2 p.m. A tight scoring race ended with Gavin Sunley of PwC netting 78 goals ahead of Lachlin Lambert of the Canadiens, who scored 74 goals. Ethan Ellis of the Blackhawks was a distant third with 44 goals. Robbie Sved of PwC had a division-best 11 assists, ahead of Sunley and Paul Marineau of the Canadiens – who both had 10 assists.
