The District of North Side won first place to become Pirates Week Parade Champions and first place in the District competition at the 15 November event on the waterfront. Parade participants from North Side took in the theme of ‘North Side Heritage. Home from the Sea, Christmas 1958.
The float was decorated like a North Side Cayman-style house in North Side at Christmas, complete with white sand, pink conch shells, decorations from the yard and riders wearing thatched hats.
The North Side Kitchen Band performed outside a traditional caboose under clothes drying on a line – a typical home in North Side in the year 1958.
There was even a vintage car for the parade.
Students from North Side Primary School took part by marching in the parade.
