Miller runs like crazy for charity

Krys & Associates, lead sponsor
of Australian marathoner Tristan Miller, has announced that the Cayman Islands
Marathon on 5 December will be Tristan’s 50th run this year.

Mr. Miller has been literally
running around the globe. His exploits and adventures, as he completes 52
marathons in as many weeks in 42 countries on all seven continents to raise
money for charity, can be followed on his website www.runlikecrazy.com

In July, Krys & Associates was
confirmed as the major sponsor of Mr. Miller’s quest and has now pledged
additional support of Tristan’s final, 52nd marathon in his home town of
Melbourne, Australia, on 31 December.

In conjunction with the CI
Marathon, local runners and fitness enthusiasts will have the opportunity to
meet Mr. Miller at a fundraising reception on
5 December. Organised by Krys & Associates, the event will take
place at Breezes By The Bay from 5-7 p.m. Proceeds from donations and a live
auction will benefit Facing Africa and Cayman’s local School of Fitness – a
programme dedicated to developing the physical well-being of Cayman’s youth.

Facing Africa is an organisation
dedicated to helping children in sub-Saharan Africa suffering the destructive
effects of the disease Noma and was the beneficial charity for the inaugural
Off The Beaten Track road race initiated by Krys & Associates in Grand
Cayman last February.

With the support of many corporate
and individual sponsors, the second annual Off The Beaten Track is set for 27
February, 2011, the firm said in a statement.

“Encouraging people to live
healthily starts with the kids. Programmes like the School of Fitness are
essential, by urging our country’s children to get active and keep fit – they
will not only reap the physical benefits but the psychological rewards of
feeling more positive, happier and motivated,” said Krys & Associates’
founder Ken Krys.

After running in Cayman, Mr. Miller
and Ken Krys will set off to Antarctica for the gruelling 100 km Ultra Race on
15 December. Mr. Krys is also running to support Facing Africa.

In a press statement Krys &
Associates thanked all supporters, noting in particular the team at CI
Helicopters. “Once again, the generosity of people such as Jerome Begot and his
team has demonstrated what can be achieved when corporate sponsorship combines
to make a difference,” the firm said.

“Due to the skill and efficiency of
CI Helicopters, it will be possible for Tristan to compete in the Reggae
Marathon (in Jamaica) on 4 December, prior to running the Cayman Marathon the
following day.”
