US consular services available this week in Cayman

A consular officer from the US Embassy in Kingston, Jamaica, will be available to assist US citizens in the Cayman Islands with passport, report of birth, and notarial services on Wednesday and Thursday this week.

Barring flight delays, the consular officer will be available at the US Consular Agency office from 10.30am – 3pm on Wednesday, 17 November, and between 8am – 12pm on Thursday, 18 November.  The US Consular Agency in the Cayman Islands is located at 118 Dorcy Drive, Suite B-1, George Town.  The tele-phone number is 945-8173.

The US consular agency is currently experiencing a reduction in services due to a vacancy in the consular agent position.  This visit is part of Embassy Kingston’s on-going commitment to maintain a basic level of services at the consular agency until that position can be filled.

Routine requests and services (such as voting assistance, registering your presence outside the US with the US Embassy and adult passport renewal) can be processed during the office’s normal business hours, Monday – Friday from 8am to 1pm. Certain other services, such as passports for children, notarial services and reports of birth can only be ac-cepted in the presence of a consular officer.

Visa information is not available through the consular agency.  All visa services must continue to be handled through the US Embassy in Kingston.  For additional information, please visit http://kingston.usembassy.gov
