British Airways has announced that it will be flying between London Gatwick and Tampa daily from March 2011. At present, the service flies twice weekly.
The carrier has also said that it will start services to Paris Orly from Heathrow 12 times a week from 10 January, 2011.
Capacity increased
According to BA’s statistics, load factors for October 2010 were 79.8 per cent. This was a 1 per cent decrease on October 2009. However, this was largely due to the fact that passenger capacity, measured in available seat kilometres, was up by 5.2 per cent compared to the same month last year.
Traffic increased by 4.6 per cent in premium and 3.7 per cent in non-premium traffic. The total traffic increase, which is measured in revenue passenger kilometres, was 3.9 per cent.
