Several armed robbers are being sought in connection with heists that occurred inside and outside ‘The Shop’ store in West Bay Monday night.
Royal Cayman Islands Police Service officers responded to a report that the clothing store had just been robbed by four or five males around 8.30pm.
Police said the suspects first attempted to rob a cashier who had been outside the shop. Investigators said a male threatened the victim with a handgun and demanded money, then focused on other workers people who were outside the store.
RCIPS officers said those at the store were all then held at gunpoint by two other men armed with what appeared to be a shotgun and a handgun. During this time they were robbed of their cell phones.
Simultaneously, two other males entered the shop and robbed other workers who were inside the store, police said. An undisclosed amount of cash and some passports were stolen. The suspects were seen leaving the location in a white Ford Explorer the first licence plate numbers being taken as N-132.
The vehicle was located and shortly afterwards one individual was arrested.

Whats going on in West bay? We are sure starting to worry about the safety on the island. We have been visiting the island and staying on North West point road for the last four years and have things ever changed!!! Hopefully the police can take things more seriously before people start making plans to vacation elseware.

You have missed the point entirely. Would you rob a store or home that is armed? Probably not. Aim and shoot, pretty simple, no strays, just dead bad guy taken out of the gene pool. Now that’s thinking.
