Seminar targets businesswomen

Roughly 65 per cent of small businesses across in Cayman are owned by women, according to government estimates.

To acknowledge and applaud this fact, the Cayman Islands Investment Bureau will hold an Inspiring Women Entrepreneurs seminar.

Sponsored by the Women’s Resource Centre, the event will be held as part of Honouring Women Month activities this Friday at the Marriott Beach Resort from 5.30-7.30pm. A networking reception will follow.

Executive Director of the Cayman Islands Investment Bureau, Dax Basdeo, said his office currently sees as many women as men wanting to start new businesses.

‘The Investment Bureau recognises the significant contributions women have made and are making in business in the Cayman Islands,’ he said.. ‘So this year, as part of Honouring Women Month, we’re excited to host an event to further inspire women entrepreneurs through the success stories of others.’
