Please Mr. Clifford, your dismay in the Caymanian Compass context on how the newspaper has placed on tourism numbers are not half of the dismay as the tourists feel about paying such high airfare to get to your country!
I have always thought of myself as a champion of the Cayman Islands, always making the suggestion of the islands to anyone who is looking for the perfect island get away, but as of late when those people I try to promote your islands to check on airfare, they retort ‘it costs more to fly there than to stay there!’ and ‘why go there when there are so many more cheaper islands in the Caribbean that seem so beautiful and allow one to afford to enjoy what the islands have to offer!’ I’m almost afraid to suggest anymore!
Please review what it would take to lower the transportation costs and let the islands be the destination of choice again and not the once in a lifetime vacation because it takes a lifetime to save to get there!
