Power outage planned for BT

CUC is advising customers in the Bodden Town area that the disruption of electrical service originally planned for this week has been rescheduled to next week.

The planned outage will now take place from 12 midnight on Wednesday, 12 September to 3am on Thursday, 13 September. This power outage is necessary to facilitate an upgrade to the company’s transmission lines to enhance reliability of service to customers in the area, CUC said in a press release.

Areas to be affected include all customers:

From the junction of Shamrock Road and Homestead Crescent (in Savannah, near Domino’s Pizza)

Up to the Bodden Town Police Station at the junction of Shamrock Road & Anton Bodden Drive (BT bypass road).

This will include customers on all side roads and subdivisions such as Savannah Meadows, Woodland Drive, Beach Bay, Northward and customers on the bypass road including Belford Estates. Customers along the waterfront road in Bodden Town will also be affected.

Police will assist with traffic flow but to ensure the safety of CUC’s crews, motorists are requested to exercise caution along this stretch of Shamrock Road, between Domino’s Pizza and the Bodden Town Police Station.

Customers who require additional information are requested to contact CUC’s Customer Service Department at 949-5200.
