All men and women regardless of their race, nationality, religion, political beliefs or sexual orientation should be treated with dignity, respect and kindness.
While one might prefer to live in a ‘gay free’ world that is not going to happen.
Unfortunately we have a lot more serious things to monitor in our society such as incest, rape and murder.
I personally would much rather be alone in a room with a thousand gays than alone in a room with one rapist, one murderer or one thief.
The incidents that I understand occurred on Tuesday 31 January were most unfortunate. Regardless of how minor these were, these acts of ignorance and lawlessness did not exude Christian behaviour and this has left a blemish on the Cayman Islands and the people who have long been remembered for their kindness and friendliness.
The people of the Cayman Islands are God fearing people and this is the way it should be.
As such we should behave and treat everyone, regardless of their beliefs, the way God would want us to treat them and that would be with compassion, understanding, kindness, respect and dignity.
We gain nothing through hatred, bigotry and disrespect. The only thing we do is pass this on from one generation to another.
The sexual behaviour of two consenting adults is between them and their God. Who am I to cast a stone at them?
As long as people that come to the Cayman Islands respect our laws and our people, they should be treated with respect and kindness, the same way we would want to be treated if we visited their country.
