Leader of Government Business Kurt Tibbetts will definitely still be PPM leader after the party holds its annual conference on Saturday.
That hardly surprising little nugget of news was the main item that came out of the party’s pre-annual conference press briefing on Monday afternoon.
All the big guns – Mr. Tibbetts along with Ministers Anthony Eden, Arden McLean, Charles Clifford and Alden McLaughlin -were wheeled out for the press conference, at the People’s Progressive Movement headquarters on Crewe Road, but not a single shot was fired in anger.
The briefing was told that Saturday’s annual conference, at the Mary Miller Hall, would feature a first session, open to members only, which would deal with party business.
The second session – scheduled to start at 5pm – would be open to the public.
It will feature an address by guest speaker, Premier of Bermuda, W. Alexander Scott and a speech by Mr. Tibbetts.
A social and refreshments will follow.
Mr. Tibbetts told the press briefing that one of the planks of the platform on which the PPM was elected was that there would be a government in which people could take part in the decision making process.
The annual party conference was one of those times when the public was allowed to take part, he said.
