Royal Cayman Islands Police K-9 units and helicopter were searching a wooded area near the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman property Saturday afternoon for man who ran from police after he was pulled over.
RCIPS Chief Inspector Raymond Christian said the man was stopped in his vehicle sometime after noon Saturday near the Ritz.
Mr. Christian said the individual was on the RCIPS “watch list” for those suspected of having dealings with firearms. However, it was unclear whether the man had any weapons in his possession at the time he was pulled over.
Officers said the man got out of his vehicle and ran shortly after the traffic stop. There was no word on whether he had been found, Mr. Christian said.

When the majority of us are spending time with our families on saturday, they sacrifice their time with a commitment to our protection. I was out doing my shopping and drove past the USG officers in what can only be described as a torrential down pour, but still they kept up the search. Bashing those that are out there doing their jobs does not help – further more i know for a fact that these officers were returning to their vehicles after 2hours of searching through swamp water in torrential rain and were pleased to be getting in to the dry. Keep it up RCIPS its officers like you that this island can depend on and needs more with your same work ethic!!!!
My God how much more of this before the head of police understands they can’t do this alone?
They needs to call in help(task force)and place each task force officer with a local police with GUNS, to insure no friend,friend or family thing will take place and do a clean sweep of West Bay(which is now called GUN BAY)
