Start planning now for a weekend of food, music, crafts and more as events kick up on Cayman Brac beginning Friday, 30 September.
From 7pm to midnight Friday join the Kickoff Party at the Brac Reef and enjoy heapin’ helpin’s of barbecue and music.
The craft market is open from 9am to 1pm on Satruday, 1 October, and free snorkelling tours get under way from Scotts Dock. Just bring your own gear; departure times aboard the old Russian frigate MV Capt. K.P Tibbetts are 1.45pm, 3pm and 4.15pm.
You’re definitely going to be hungry after all that activity, so head to the Brac Bash Cook-Off from 4.30-6pm. For $10 each category, you can sample the best appetizers, entrees, desserts and lionfish. Plus, there will be face-painting, water toss, bouncy castle, raffles, music, food tastings and more.
To cap off the fine evening, a dance, in partnership with the Cayman Brac Pirates Week Committee, begins at 8pm until, presumably, the pirates say it’s time to go home.
But wait: The fun continues on Sunday, 2 October, with an island-wide scavenger hunt. Teams of up to five people permiited; age groups are 4 to 11 and 12 and older. $5 entry fee per team.
