The Island Heritage Stingrays team are the 2011 Women Cricket League champions winning back to back titles but it was not easy.
Against Motown it took an outstanding display of batting from star opener Rosemarie Wilson with a 62 plus excellent contributions from team captain Beverly Watson and hard running from Vanessa Cameron to provide a big total of 176 for 4 wickets.
Motown were limited to 78 and it was an important victory to Stingrays. Finishing on equal points with Greenies, Stingrays were the eventual winners by net run rate. It was a good season for the fast improving Greenies outfit lead by Carmel Harms. Now is T/20 time.
In Division Two, Aims Consultants travelled to Cayman Brac and returned victorious defeating the hosts by 6 wickets. Donald McKoy and Locksley Davis were most outstanding with bat and ball respectively. Paramount had an easy victory over ONENESS by 7 wickets with youngster Ajani Anderson taking 3 wickets.
Chillies recorded their first victory for the season and it was a big one. Chillies made 264 and limited Welly’s to 105 winning by 159 runs
Excitement reached fever pitch in Division One T/20 as By Rite chased down Greenies 173 for 5. Franklin Hinds big hitting aided by Andrew Ledger and new captain Chris Palmer took Greenies to a respectable total. Ainsley Hall and Conroy Wright led the chase supported by Troy Taylor only for By Rite to fall short by 1 run. ESSO Tigers inflicted the first defeat for front runners Police by 8 wickets.
The T/20 action has reached the knockout stage with ESSO Tigers facing By Rite in the first match. All action continues at the Smith Road Oval.
LIME and Government with Primary Schools and Mourant/Ozannes and Government with Secondary Schools have started.
